About me
Anh Huntington
I am a Person-Centred Counsellor offering confidential counselling for individuals and couples in Milton Keynes, both in person and online.
I believe that counselling begins with having a space where you can be yourself without judgement. Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, confusing or difficult to make sense of, and it can help to have someone alongside you who will listen carefully and genuinely try to understand your experience.
My approach is rooted in Person-Centred Therapy, a humanistic approach developed by Carl Rogers. I believe that the relationship we build together is central to the counselling process. Through empathy, acceptance and trust, I aim to create a space where you can slow down, reflect on what is happening in your life and begin to understand yourself in ways that can support meaningful change.
I work relationally and have deep respect for each person’s individuality. Your background, culture, values, beliefs, relationships and life experiences all contribute to who you are, and I do not believe there is a single way of understanding or experiencing life. My aim is not to tell you what you should do or who you should be. Instead, I will work alongside you, helping you explore what matters to you and supporting you to find your own understanding and way forward.
My experience
My own life journey has shaped the way I understand people. As someone who has experienced life as a refugee, I have experienced the world through different cultural perspectives. This has given me a particular appreciation of identity, belonging, resilience and the ways in which our experiences can shape how we see ourselves and others.
My experiences of living, working and travelling among people from different cultures and backgrounds have also broadened my understanding of the richness and complexity of human experience. They have helped me develop greater openness, compassion and curiosity about the diverse ways people make sense of their lives.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in managerial roles within commercial and educational organisations. This experience gave me an understanding of workplace pressures, responsibility, relationships and the challenges that can arise when our personal and professional lives become difficult to balance.
I have also gained counselling experience working with adults at Mind BLMK, supporting people experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, abuse and emotional challenges. I have worked at the Oxford Counselling Centre for Women, providing a confidential and supportive space for women to explore concerns in their lives.
These experiences, together with my own life journey, led me towards psychotherapy and counselling and continue to influence the way I work today.

A space for you
Whether you are struggling with something that has happened recently, carrying difficulties from the past, experiencing problems within a relationship, or simply feeling that something in your life needs to change, counselling can provide an opportunity to pause and explore what is happening.
You do not have to have everything figured out before you begin.
I offer a warm, confidential and accepting space where you can talk openly, at your own pace, and where your experience can be heard and explored together.
If you feel that my approach may be right for you, I would be happy to hear from you.
